Jodoh Semelir Waterfall is inside a forest among a row of hills with a scenic view of Mount Semelir. The forest has rare plants such as Dipterocarpus sp, Shorea sp, Champhor, rattan, cinnamon, Tangkeh Lengat tree, banyan, and forest banana. The mountain has an altitude of 1,754 meters (5,755 ft) above sea level. It is one of the highest mountains around Lake Toba.
What to Enjoy
Enjoy the cold and fresh water while swimming at the waterfall or in the river below. As this open area also offers fresh air and the extraordinary panoramic view of the mountains, take some time to relax nearby the waterfall. Pamper your body and eyes here.
Other activities that you can do there are trekking, hiking, and camping. There is also a cave not far from the waterfall.
What to Expect
Access road is not smooth. Entrance fee is Rp 40,000 ($3.50) per person. You are required to bring extra energy, since the road is steep and you have to walk for 30 minutes to the waterfall. Lodging facilities are not available in the area, except small warung (food shops). Bring enough food and drink from your hotels or buy it from a supermarket on your way.
